It was a/an/the terribly/awful/dreadful morning/afternoon/evening. I had just finished/was about to start/had been working on my day when I realized/it dawned on me/I remembered that I'd left my keys inside/at home/in the house. Panic started/set in/took over as I looked around/scrambled for/searched desperately for a/an/any spare key. There was absolutely nothing/not a thing/no sign of/zero chance of finding one. I was stuck/trapped/completely locked out. My mind raced, trying to figure out/devise/come up with a plan.

Imagine this: you're scurrying through your day, late for your shift. You reach your car, eager to jump in, but suddenly realize your transponder key is nowhere to be found. Panicked and stranded, I realized with a sinking feeling that my keys were nowhere to be found. Had I misplaced them somewhere in the house?
